Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you have a great holiday and find the time to reflect on things you can be thankful for on this day. Despite the challenges we all face, we live in the best country and have wonderful opportunities.

I'm thankful that I'm able to get together with family today and that my dear sisters are doing all the cooking. We are going to our stepdad's home for dinner. The home where my mother cooked us many Thanksgiving dinners. Her presence will be felt there. The kitchen is still as it was when she was there - we even still have all the spices she bought and more. My grandmother, Mim, lived just up the road, as well as my Aunt Ellen. They would come for dinner too. We will remember them today too. They are all missed. My Aunt Eva is still living a couple of streets over but she's not one to come for dinner. She likes to watch her sports and have a bean sandwich on Thanksgiving Day. I get over to see her whenever I can.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I just went back and was reading your past blogs...

Thanksgiving was really nice for me this year. Never before have I felt as thankful as I did this year. Being on my own, I find I appreciate my family so much. The people who have known me my whole life and have seen me grow up.
The house always reminds me of Grandma. Sometimes, when I am there, I still see her sitting in her seat yelling at Papa to sit down while he did the dishes and God knows what else before he would eat. The way they went back and forth all the time, with their quick banter. I would sit there and smile at them because even when I was very young, I knew that the banter was not in a bad manner. Even when they were bickering you could tell they loved each other more than anything. It was so beautiful.
I remember Grandmas fingers and her eyes the most. I guess it's because no matter what she was saying her touch and look was so soft and loving. I see her in my mother and her two sisters. I hope that people can see my mother in me.

Very touching post honey.
I hope people see me in you too because you're so beautiful. I hope they see me in both of my beautiful girls!
